Zhuhai CPI in Jan. grows 3.6%

Zhuhai's public budget revenue in January reached 5 billion yuan (about US$730 million), marking 28.2 percent growth year on year, Zhuhai Daily reported, citing the Zhuhai Bureau of Statistics.

The city's consumer price index (CPI) grew 3.6 percent year on year, with housing prices contributing most to the rise of the CPI.

The growth of public budget revenue in the city ranks second in the Pearl River Delta. The public budget expenditure hit 4.5 billion yuan last month, a 161 percent growth year on year, 2.5 billion yuan of which was spent on nine projects affecting people's livelihood, a 150.1 percent growth year on year.

The city's volume of imports and exports hit 21.34 billion yuan in January, a 14.9 percent increase year on year. The export volume reached 13.65 billion yuan, a 7.7 percent growth year on year. The import volume hit 7.69 billion yuan, a 30.4 percent increase year on year.

Deposits of RMB and foreign currencies in Zhuhai hit 612.86 billion yuan in January, a 12.3 percent growth year on year. The balance of loans reached 433.34 billion yuan, a 40.6 percent growth year on year.
