Two sections of the Zhuhai Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) have recently earned the Green Building Evaluation Label (China Three Star), Zhuhai Daily reports, citing the Zhuhai State-Owned Assets Supervision & Administration Commission.

The achievement fills in the gaps in city architectural history as the HZMB Zhuhai Port is the first such title owner here.

The green building certification process evaluates land, energy, water, resource/material efficiency, indoor environmental quality, and operational management.

The certification was attributed to reasonable design and construction which balances public building usage. The land development as well as energy and resource conservation not only beautifies ecological afforestation, but also reduces operations and maintenance costs. The favorable economic and environment benefits are dependent on natural lighting and ventilation, passive sunshade, rainwater recycling, and energy efficiency based on interior environmental control of sound, light, temperature, and dampness.

Morever, the construction company, Gree Real Estate, revealed that the Zhuhai Port will be developed into China's first smart port to access Zhuhai's Smart City system in the future.
