Some 16 enterprises damaged by recent typhoons in the Zhuhai Free Trade Zone resumed production as of Aug. 31, Nanfang Daily reported.

It said the zone will set up a special fund of 80 million yuan (about US$12 million) to support post-disaster recovery of enterprise production and another fund of 50 million yuan to help construction projects recover from the recent disasters.

The zone is expected to basically resume all production and construction activities before mid-September.

Typhoon Hato and Typhoon Paka caused severe damage to the zone, with economic losses estimated at around 164 million yuan.
