Hengqin subsidizes 27 high-tech companies with 24.9 mln yuan

The Hengqin Association for Science and Technology Companies was set up on March 24, Zhuhai Daily reports.

In the meantime, the Hengqin New Area provided 24.9 million yuan (about US$3.6 million) of subsidies to 27 high-tech companies in addition to relevant training courses to over 200 representatives from more than 150 companies.

The association, with 33 companies as its first batch of members, was initiated by eight companies including ZhaobangSmartech and Vimicro Electronics Corporation.

According to Ye Zhen, deputy party secretary of Hengqin New Area, the number of high-tech companies in Hengqin increased from three in 2015 to 29 in 2017. Currently, another three such companies are relocatingtoHengqin.

In 2016, to support the development of high-tech companies, Hengqin launched a series of policies regarding office building, housing for talents, IPR and platforms for public services.
